Does Cync work with Homekit?

Yes, C by GE – Cync does work with Homekit. Devices with C Reach and Matter Support can work well.

You can connect the Cync to Homekit if connected to a C-Reach Hub. However, Currently, Only the Bluetooth Cync | C by GE Light bulbs, Cync by GE 22518 C Reach and Light strips are compatible with C Reach. Which makes them Homekit Compatible. Whereas, for The Other GE Devices you will need to create another app home with C Reach, and Lights to connect Cync to Homekit. i.e., a Cync Thermostat can also work through a Smart Bridge.

How to Add Cync to Homekit?

There are Two Possible ways to connect Cync to Homekit. Either you should have a C Reach Smart Bridge or a Matter Supported C -GE Device.

Unfortunately, the Cync  GE has discontinued the making of the Homekit-supported C Reach Smart bridge. So, If you do not have a device already, You may have to try some other methods.

Connect Cync to Homekit through C Reach Smart Bridge

C Reach Smart Bridge is a hub that allows users to connect Bluetooth Lights to Wifi. Pair it with a Voice Assistant and get Out-of-home controls.

Prerequisite ;

• Make sure to have C Reach Set up and Plugged in.
• and Place it near your Home WIFI Router.
• Cync App.
• Apple Home App.

Set up C-Reach 

• In Order to get started, Make sure to set up C Reach.
• Connect and Configure at least One C by GE Light to a C Reach. Make it Online.
• For Multiple Lights, Make sure to connect it to C Reach and Power On.
• Look at the Reverse Side of the C Reach for the 8-digit code. Note it down.
• Now, plug the device – Online and Connect to the Cync Bulbs.
• Once, This is done, You can move on and Integrate Apple Homekit.

1. Firstly, Set up your Cync or C by GE Bluetooth Lights to connect to Homekit.
2. Enable the Homekit Control -Pair your C Reach and Cync or C by GE Bluetooth Lights on the Cync App.
3. Install the Cync App and Open the App.
4. Tap on the + icon> Add New Devices > Select C Reach to add Cync Lights to the C Reach Smart bridge.

Add Cync to Homekit on the Home App

• On the Cync App, Click on Settings and Select Voice.
• Choose Homekit and Siri. Follow the On Screen Prompts on the App.
• Then, On the Home App, Scan the QR Code printed on your Device.

In case, There is no QR Code, Tap on Don’t have a code and Type the 8-digit code that you noted. Press Done and Complete the Cync Homekit Integration.

• Open the Cync App> Click on the App Home > Tap on Add Devices>Select the devices that you want to add.

Luckily, Some devices do have a special feature and support Matter. So, You can use Matter and connect Cync to Homekit. Currently,

• GE CYNC Indoor Smart Plugs.
• CYNC Full Colour Smart Bulbs.
• GE Cync Smart LED Light Bulbs are matter-compatible.

You can connect matter-compatible Cync devices to Homekit and control them on the Home app. Follow these steps to directly connect matter-supported devices to Apple Home.

1. Firstly, Install your Matter Supported GE Cync Device and Turn it ON.
2. Secondly, Install the Apple Home App on your iPhone/iPad.
3. Tap on the + icon> Add Accessory and Scan the Matter QR Code on your Lights. You can also find the QR Code in the manual.
4. Once scanning is done, Select the Location and name for your Lights.
5. Press Continue and Done to Complete the Homekit Integration.
