How to Add Ecobee to Homekit? Link Smart Devices
Firstly, This Linking method applies to All the Ecobee Thermostats except for the Smart, EMS, and SI Model of Smart and EMS along with Older 3.
Ensure your devices are turned ON whenever you add to the homekit.
1)Link through the Thermostat – Add Ecobee to Homekit
Take your Ecobee Thermostat and Follow as instructed;
- Go to Main Menu > Choose General > Settings > Homekit> Enable Homekit Pairing > Access the QR Code.
- Now, Open the Home App on your iOS. Click on Add Accessory (+) > Scan the QR Code and Follow as Prompted right after.
2)Link Via the Apple Home App
Do as same mentioned in the First Method. If you do not see any code on your Thermostat. Firstly Make sure that you have connected your Ecobee and iOS to the same Wi-Fi. If yes, Then Click on I Don’t Have a Code or Can’t Scan Option.
You will get a list of available devices > Choose your Ecobee Thermostat and get the code > Scan it via the Home app and Complete Pairing.
3)Link using the Ecobee App
On your Mobile – Open the Ecobee App > Click on Thermostat> Tap Settings /Gear Icon > Integrations > Homekit > Add to Homekit > Choose Homekit Home > Next.

How to use the Ecobee to Homekit?
Once the Pairing is done, Start Creating and Editing your Homekit Scenes as you like.
- Start by – On the Ecobee app, Go to Home > Account Profile > Homekit> Add Scene /Edit Scene. You can choose either any default or create a New Scene.
- Give a name to your scene and Select a device that you want to add there.
Click on Performed Action Menu > Choose an action to get your scene when you call and Tap SAVE.
- Custom – This option will let you set your desired temperature, fan speed, target mode, etc.
- Resume Schedule – This will send a command to cancel any holding scene.
- Comfort Settings – Select from Home/Away/Sleep.

- Scan the QR Code and Pair it with your Homekit.
If there is no QR Code, Try this ;
Click I don’t have a code or cannot scan. Tap on Nearby accessories > Locate your Doorbell Camera. Now, Insert the 8-digit code on the Homekit QR Code Sticker.
Currently , The Homekit Secure Video is not supported on the Ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera.

Fixes for Ecobee to Homekit Not Working
Here are some troubleshooting ways to fix the errors.
- No Response?
Remove and Reconnect it to your homekit after some time. On the Home app – Tap and hold the thermostat icon > Select Details> Remove Accessory.
- Unable to Pair?
Pairing Homekit is done in the First 10 minutes once the device is turned on. If you are not able to pair it, Just turn it off and Turn it ON After some time.
- Unpair it.
On your Thermostat – Go to menu >general>settings>reset>disconnect from homekit.
- Reboot and Restart your Devices.
- Power off the Internet Router and Reconnect.
- Sign Out of iCloud on your iOS Device to Reboot it too(Less Recommended). Make sure you know how to sign back in and enable all these.
- Failed Pairing?
Try Different Pairing methods – Through the Device or Home app or Ecobee App.
